Our Jamaica Day celebration was a vibrant and engaging experience, with booths set up highlighting Sports, Culinary Arts, Literary Arts, Performing Arts & Visual Arts.
The space was decorated in the Jamaican colours, and students proudly wore bandanas and attire reflecting our national flag.
In Performing Arts, students enjoyed traditional dance items, drumming by our own students, Jamaican songs, a speech presentation with some invited on stage to participate, and even Anancy stories were also told - our dance, music, and speech teachers guided the presentations.
Visual Arts featured paintings on display, while the Culinary Arts booth offered Jamaican treats such as suck-suck, peanut cake, coconut drops, toto, potato pudding, snow cone - a delicious school lunch of curry goat and roti was served as well.
The Sports booth, led by our sports coach, engaged students in discussion and activities.
A community market vendor was also present, giving students the opportunity to purchase local items. Overall, it was a rich celebration of Jamaican culture and talent.
